Chateau L'Eglise Clinet Originally part of Château Clinet and Château Clos l'Eglise, in 1882 Mr. Mauléon-Rouchut brought these family holdings together to form Chateau L’Eglise Clinet. This formed a 14 acre vineyard surrounding the picturesque church of Saint John of Pomerol. Soon the wines produced became one of the most sought after in Pomerol. Due to its position on a plateau behind the church it survived the frosts of 1956 and so has vines ranging over 100 years in age. It is currently run by Mauleon-Rouchut’s great, great grandson Denis Durantou.
The vineyard is situated on deep gravel beds which are generously intermingled with sand, clay and iron. Due to the tiny production and traditional methods it is very tricky to get hold of. View our wines from Chateau L'Eglise Clinet
