Chateau Caillou Bought by Joseph Ballan in 1909, today it is his granddaughter Marie-Josee Brousse and her husband Michel Pierre who manage the property. Chateau Caillou classified as Les seconds Crus years 1855, with its vineyard of 13 hectares, which has the same design as today.
The plants are planted at 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, which is planted in the limestone rich soil that typifies Barsac. The vineyard has 6600 vines/ha. The berries are harvested by hand in batches, though selective picking, and each batch is fermented and aged separately. View our wines from Chateau Caillou
