Chateau Bellegrave Originally from the Comtat Venaissin in the Vaucluse region of south-eastern France, it was in 1954 that Gabriel Meffre, a renowned nurseryman in search of places to sell his plants, discovered the Médoc and bought several estates in Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac and Saint-Julien. Today his grandsons, Ludovic and Julien, run this new estate.
The vineyards span just over 8 hectares, with vines planted at 62 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, 31 per cent Merlot and 7 per cent Cabernet Franc. Harvesting takes place manually, with rigorous quality control (including green harvesting and plot-by-plot management). Average vine age is 22 years. Fermentation takes place in temperature regulated stainless steel vats, before the wine is subjected to 12 months in French oak. View our wines from Chateau Bellegrave
