Canon-Fronsac.jpg) Canon-Fronsac, or Côtes de Canon, is a smaller appellation enclaved by the Fronsac boundary which has the reputation of producing the finer wine of the district. Situated on the high rim of the Canon hills, it overlooks the Dourdogne.
Considered the heart of the district, the appellation covers the two communes Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac, where estates are exclusive to the appellation, and Fronsac where declaration to either appellation is optional.
